Boot crashes and a Beep

edited May 2022 in AML-S905X-CC
Hey all,
I got my Le Potato for my partner earlier this month, and as a fun little project to do together we wanted to setup a retro game emulator (very easy task to do on a Raspberry Pi, but I couldn't find a place in my country that had any in stock).
I went through the images provided on the product page as well as the ones provided here: http://share.loverpi.com/board/libre-computer-project/libre-computer-board-aml-s905x-cc/image/
but the device seemed to crash midway through each time. The text would garble up into nonsense at the crash point (visually, that is), and eventually I would just have to turn it off.
I struggled with this thing for days now, trying different images, scrambling for decent documentation on how to go about properly setting up this board and looking for solutions to the few error messages I was actually able to read, but nothing.
My last run where text appeared on the monitor resulted in a loud long beep from the device, and I haven't been able to get visual feedback since.

Is this thing bricked, and should I just give up on it? Is there a factory reset option available through the hardware somehow?
