libreboard running without proprietary binary blobs?
Hi everybody!
Am I understanding it correctly that all three boards are running free/opensource hardware and software? I'm looking for a single board computer without any proprietary elements.. even if that means I can't decode certain codec etc...

Hi user_account, There is a binary blob as part of any ARM based SoC with Trustzone. You cannot go without a blob. The closest thing that comes to it is the Tritium designs since most of the components of the chip have been reverse engineered and there's open schematics. https://libre.computer/products/boards/all-h3-cc/ But that won't be ready for another month.
hi! thanks a lot for your fast reply. can you tell me which binary (proprietary) blobs are being used in the tritium design?
Check https://www.fsf.org/resources/hw for info
Open schematics are nice, but would it be considered open-hardware without releasing the design files for the boards? Is this being considered to ever become a reality? I could make several hardware improvements right now, assuming the CAD tools in question are FOSS.
