converter a video mpeg .avi to H265 .mkv

i have a problem with the board ROC-RK3328-CC
somebody could help me?
i am using Ubuntu 16.04
i have a problem because i try converter a video mpeg .avi to H265 .mkv but the time prosses is very high, and the site web the autor write that H.265 1080P30 or 2x H.265 720P30
and i am using ffmpeg
any idea?

    Hi, there are many different video converting programs that you can use for this purpose. I personally use Movavi video converter, but as I know it is just for macOS and Windows, so here is the list of the best video converters. For example MacX Video Converter Pro or VLC. I am sure you will find something that fits your needs.

    For windows, you can find a large number of video editors. I would advise you to choose a video editor solely based on your goals and capabilities. Some video editors have amazing functionality, but they require serious processing power. However, I prefer programs like Movavi Video Editor Plus. It is a free software with diverse functionality and cool video effects.
