Regular "tablet" Android build for AML 905x Le Potato board
Hi guys!
I recently tired a new android build for Beelink MX3 II and it appears to work on Le Potato board as well!
It has a regular "tablet" UI, status and navigation bars, Gapps!
Moreover I was able to connect my 10 inch HDMI display with USB capacitive touchscreen and it worked out of the box! I connected a TPlink wifi dongle and it worked as well (if it doesn't try rebooting the device)
I did burn the image to EMMC using USB burning tools.
Here is the link to the freaktab forum with more information and download links
P.S. First boot may take up to 15 minutes. It will seem that the board is stuck on boot animation but be patient- it should boot.

You can get the regular tablet build by just selecting the launcher in Android 8 on bootup.
@loverpi in the official builds for Le Potato there is no Navigation Bar with Home, Back and Recent Apps buttons, so It's not comfortable with a touchscreen. Also there is no Status bar with quick settings menu.
@fender90 There should be. Are you using the stock Android 8 launcher? That is a tablet launcher with the mentioned features.
@loverpi yes I downloaded and installed the Android 8 build but there was no status bar or navigation bar with back, home and recent app buttons, that's why I mentioned about it in my previous post named "Potatocar Infotainment system"
We are wrapping up a lot of the Linux image work this week. We'll circle to Android next week.
@loverpi thanks for update! Will wait for the new build!
Hey @loverpi! Hope you are doing great. Any updates on Android 9 for Le Potato? Can you provide an approximate ETA? Thanks
Hey @fender90 , sorry to distorb but could you provide an quick tutorial maybe in the comment on how you installed the rom ?
@fender90 The word on the street is that Android 9 is expected to land in April. We have no certain dates though.
Hey @sebastiano!
You need to install Amlogic USB Burning tool
Unplug everything from the board besides the eMMC module.
Connect one end of the USB Type A cable to the top USB port by the Ethernet jack.
Hold the Uboot button while plugging the other end of the USB Type A cable into the computer.
Select the image file from the Amlogic USB Burning Tool and click Start.
After the flashing is over remove the USB cable and connect the power cable and hdmi
Fist boot may take up to 15 minutes
@loverpi Thanks for the information! Hope there will be no delay :-)
This rom is the best ive tried so far! Great find!!!
The only feature that doesnt work on the remote is the mouse mode, imo if your going to buy a remote ide just get a air mouse BUT if you need all of the USB ports this remote works without using one of the USB ports so its your call.
So if you decide to run the stock firmware or this one the wifi works for both!
