How to verify that the hardware is working at all ...
Hey,
I just received my computer today, downloaded an image, wrote that on an SDCard and booted that system: nothing on the screen. red-led and green-led are steady shining. No different behaviour if I start this system without an sd-card.
How can I check if this hardware is working at all ???
Comments
Ok, I noticed there is no software at all available to run this board ... the image I wrote on the disk was for the AML board.
So my question - is there any software available for this board ???
I'm wondering the same thing - is there an OS image available somewhere, or an approximate expected arrival date?
I still not received my board, so I can only blindly suggest, but anyway Try to go to firefly site and use this image http://en.t-firefly.com/doc/product/info/id/471.html
Thanks Kragius. Is there a way to donwload the image without having a Baidu account?
Ah, ignore me - I found the GDrive link: http://en.t-firefly.com/doc/product/info/id/475.html
I don't know. I trying to download image with baidu now. If that that won't work, I will try to build image using instructions from firefly site.
I created Linux image from sources. You can find "out" folder with all .img files in my google disk https://drive.google.com/open?id=1VYvnkOig_b2gmqhzUBojkK2SeArxBG8V The file you need probably is system.img
Thanks- got your image booted. Haven't tested much more than that but hdmi, Ethernet and usb all worked perfectly.
Which of the actual images are required to be on the flash drive and how did you copy them?
What is the root password
I think the root password was the same as the user name
thanks
Got my RK3328 today. No downloads, no guides at libre.computer. Saw the files and instructions for building an Android 7.1 at Firefly but did not find a prebuilt image. Did I miss something?
Hoping the project will make visible progress soon...
Yes, I require Android as well. I try to download from HERE
However, I get a message "Server Busy" I have been trying for days.
My Kit came with 16 GB instead of a 32 GB sdcard. The card was also blank.
I am unable to get the lower USB port closest to the PCB to operate or detect a plugged in device. The Ethernet port is operating at 1000 MB/s.
Anyone experience the USB port not working?
SmilinVamp if you have a google acct you can download from their google drive instead,
I was able to get the img from google drive roc-RK3328-cc folder, used their sd firmware tool 1.46 like tutorial said to use and got Android to boot, all the USB ports
work on mine, usb wireless keyboard works,
Yes me - my lower USB port is also not working with the system img publish above and the system in very, very slow (UI) ... so one can see, that perhaps these new RK3328 might have more potentials, but the PI3 seems to have pretty well optimized software. Even the ROCK64 system from PINE64 seems to have better software. So one has to wait ...
Hey, jeepthing! How have you been?
Forgive my ignorance here... but how did you hook up with their Google Drive?
No worries.. found the Google Drive.
EDIT: Don't mind me, I just kept trying the drive link and after a while it started working again.
Howdy,
Just wondering what Google Drive people found the completed images under as the only one I was able to dig up was from the t-firefly base site and it just links to an error saying the drive doesn't exist.
Otherwise it's just the Baidu links and I'd prefer not to have to install their client to get them.
Meanwhile there are three images available, the latest one from 26 Feb 2018, when you click this link: https://pan.baidu.com/s/1jI1nTVC#list/path=/Public/DevBoard/ROC-RK3328-CC/Firmware/Android&parentPath=/Public/DevBoard/ROC-RK3328-CC/Firmware
But I do not want to install the Baidu download client and I still can't find a link to Google drive. Anyone how can point me into the right direction?
firefly's web page, resources, other resources, google drive , you need to log into
your google acct, I found the img's on drive were oldest version's but I can't use/read
baidu, on indiegogo site someone said use tool jdownloader 2 I used that to get the
newer version of android and Linux yesterday, you have to use their sd flash tool for
the android so it will boot, I used etcher for Linux
Please use images found here: http://share.loverpi.com/board/libre-computer-project/libre-computer-board-roc-rk3328-cc/image/
They are verified images.
Does the Ubuntu 16.04 image have support for the I2S subsystem ? I'm planning on using 8-channel ADC/DAC with this board (with TI codecs)
Anyone had any luck with the Ubuntu 16.04 image on share.loverpi.com? I
dd
-ed it onto a microSD card, and it starts to boot, but bails with a kernel stack trace.@james_pic What does the stack trace say?
I have had no booting issues with ROC-RK3328-CC_Ubuntu16.04_Arch64_20180315 but like all images before it, the Wifi driver crashes. Has anyone gotten wifi working with the Ubuntu images or am I the only one?
@JeffMeden what dongle are you using?
lsusb -v
Start the System
Make Linux SD Card to Startup System
Update time:2018-03-19 (http://en.t-firefly.com/doc/product/info/471.html)
I hope this last step will be obsolete, configuration mode never appears. Using this Firefly Online Upgrade Tool (http://bbs.t-firefly.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2241&extra=page=1 - http://en.t-firefly.com/doc/download/index/id/34.html) changes nothing. Do i need to have a PC with RS232 and to use Debug Pins RX2 TX2 or what is to do at least? Please explain it.
Start the System:
Insert the SD card into the ROC-RK3328-CC board and power on (monitor recognises hdmi, black screen, backlight on!). The first thing you need to start in the serial console is to press Enter key to enter the configuration mode, run the following commands to make gpt partition table for SD card, the system will restart again and automatically load the rootfs file system.
gpt write mmc 1 $partitions
boot
None of this Firefly Online Upgrade Tool images work. Today Debian and LibreElec disappeared, Station OS not available, got it from Homepage. For Ubuntu i tried to start the system with serial console (putty, gtkterm, ttyUSB0) and nullmodem connection without handshake (Digitus USB - SERIELL - Converter DA-70156), no board online.
After inserting the SD card into the ROC-RK3328-CC board and power on the Board gets only extrem hot near micro-usb, black screen, waiting for what? I think the board is bricked. Android is the minimum which has to work (only flashing sd-card).
Dongle...............
@loverpi It doesn't seem like it always fails at the same place - I've got screenshots from 3 different failed boots:
