M.2 SSD Findings

I purchased KingSpec PCI NVMe 128Gb. It works fine on my desktop. The nvm device did not appear in / dev and the output of lspci is empty. I use 15 Watt Power Delivery (15V / 3A) good power supply. Maybe I need to do something with the mezzanine or enable some kind of module?

Is the M.2 SSD SATA or NVMe?

Running a Toshiba NVMe x4 256gb on the Renegade Elite, detects no issues, can copy data to it no issues with the Ubuntu build. Now if I could only boot off of it.... :P

We have never tried a Kingspec module. We can only recommend Samsung, Sandisk/Western Digital, Micron/Crucial, Intel, Toshiba, SK Hynix since they are large flash manufactures and they pair good controllers that are spec compliant. A lot of the white-label products don't follow standards.

Yesterday I tried Samsung Evo 970 plus. The file in /dev did not appear. In the disks app, the  device did not appear. The chip on the SSD is heated.

 That's too bad. Looks like mezzanine or the board itself is out of order.

Well, I just tested the latest ubuntu image (2019-03-04) and it does not detect my SSD. The 2018 build did though... So something might have been broken from that build compared to the old one. Try the 2018 ubuntu image to see if your SSD works.

I read all the comments. All links to the images lead to t-firefly.com/doc/download/51.html. There the images have already been updated. I can not like the previous ones. Please look in the downloads, maybe you have saved.

Any news? Or maybe, if you have a connection with the developers, can you find the previous image (Ubuntu 18.04 from 2018)? Place it on any file hosting service.

I don't have the image anymore, I thought I kept it on my old laptop, but I didn't. Sorry.

Today I decided to take a look at http://en.t-firefly.com/doc/download/51.html and found the firmware dated May 21, 2019. I downloaded it and it all worked. M.2 SSD and adapter from M.2 to SATA.
