Background:

Amlogic's S905X SoC is one of the most popular chips in 2017 and 2018 for the TV market. Featuring hardware acceleration of a complete array of modern codecs, S905X is optimized for handling multimedia up to 4K. It is equipped with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores, 2+3 ARM Mali-450 Geometry+Pixel GPU cores, and Amlogic's AV10 display engine. Amlogic S905X's upstream open-source support is primarily maintained by BayLibre for Amlogic and Libre Computer as part of the linux-meson community.
