Background:

Amlogic's S805X SoC is cost down version of the Amlogic S905X SoC. It has fewer IO pins and a reduced 16-bit DDR interface but is otherwise identical to S905X. Featuring hardware acceleration of a complete array of modern codecs, S805X is optimized for handling multimedia up to 1080P. It is equipped with 4 ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cores, 2+3 ARM Mali-450 Geometry+Pixel GPU cores, and Amlogic's AV10 display engine. Amlogic S805X's upstream open-source support is primarily maintained by BayLibre for Amlogic and Libre Computer as part of the linux-meson community.

where exactly are the OS images?

I have got this image (http://share.loverpi.com/board/libre-computer-project/libre-computer-board/image/debian/?fbclid=IwAR2B2Jx-buPPsIwGaUJ3Zvi4kISXj5SJHXwF4slGAlXzyJ6HwztarEwomqs) and burned that to a USB drive, but still my board does not boot into an OS.  We really need some documentation on how to get our boards running.

That image should work, it did for me. Burn with win32 diskimager or etcher. It only works on one of the two usb ports. You need to use the usb port furthest from the gpio pins.

If you want to get an emmc working, have a look through the comments on the kick starter page. Someone has explained it there.

I have the same problem, what happens to you? For me it just doesn't do anything

You say the processor is optimised for 1080p playback, but it can't even load a yt video?

@Lodebakker This board can decode 4K videos with 1080P output. Whether the software distribution's browser can use accelerated decode is un-related to the board's capabilities.

Ah ok, so it should be able to play local files? I will test that
