Realistic dates

I spent my career developing software. I understand it's not easy to hit your dates. But... at some point - like after having missed every date you promised for La Frites, it's seems you should be getting a little bit better at coming up with realistic dates....like the images that were going to be ready for download today. I'd much rather have dates that I think are too far in the future, but that you actually make, rather than the stream of "promises not kept".

  • This is the unfortunate history of Libre Computer. I really like their products. The Le Potato is much faster than the Raspberry Pi 3 or Pi 4 (even today), but the level of support is almost non existent. I had to run Armbian for about 6 months on my Le Potato because there was no viable OS provided by Libre. Look at their home page blog: It hasn't been updated since February 18, 2019. My guess is they're very short on resources and are barely able to keep up with their customers, but that is no excuse when very specific promises are made.

Now, the backers of the Le Frite are receiving our devices and we can't even turn them on. We respect the work you've done in your hardware. Libre: Please respect your customers and deliver the software. I cannot even find an Armbian release for Le Frite, so what can we do?
  • Le Potato and Tritium are getting updates regularly and it's not posted on the website. If you look on the download page, the latest images are from last month. If you have a specific issue with a specific image, post it but we cannot do anything about generic "it doesn't work" statements because you haven't really reported to us what the issue is.
