How to get smooth video playback?

I've flashed "libre-computer-all-h3-cc-h3-debian-stretch-xfce-mali-4.18.8-gf6c466dd009d-dirty-2018-09-19.img" onto my SD card and booted it in my 1G all-h3-cc.  Video playback in vlc is terrible and it complains about a missing driver.  How do I fix this?  Help greatly appreciated; thank you in advance.
