Keyboard not being detected on installation

I've manage to boot both Ubuntu and openSUSE arm64 installers, but once I get into the installation process, the keyboard stops being detected. I've tried multiple keyboards, plugging it into the usb closest  to the GPIO or using a usb hub to connect it onto the other usb. What can I do?

The kernel on the installer probably does not have meson USB support.

Yeah I've tried to use those before. You are better off using the rootfs of the Distro ur interested in and replacing the kernel and firmware. Not sure about this board, because I don't own it. But in all the other cases "Le Potato included" I also had to flash my own u-boot. Essentially, you need to build ur own .IMG using the generic aarch64 rootfs of the Distro ur trying to use.

Of course, unless they are offering an .IMG specific to the board you are using. In any case, I have never gotten one of those installers to work.

@loverpi is meson usb inclluded on the mainline kernel? If so, do I have to compile the kernel myself to include it, or can I use a boot parameter to enable it on the distro kernel?
I've also noticed that the openSUSE installer sends a DHCP request an always fails. Could it also mean there's something missing on the kernel for ethernet as well?

This has to deal with what config flags the distro makers set when they compiled their installer. For ARM64, they should enable the relevant tags but you probably need to open a ticket with them about the specific config they should enable in their installer.

I found that CONFIG_PHY_MESON_GXL_USB2 is set as a module instead of enabled on the kernel used. Can I enable it with a boot parameter?

You have to add the module to the initramfs or recompile the kernel to have it included.
