AML-S905X-CC Mainline Linux Preview Image 8 with eMMC Support
@loverpi I have copied image to loverpi SD card (used Etcher and Win32 Image writer), but board does not come up / does not boot. RED & Yellow LED is always on and BLUE is blinking. Any idea?

@wappi, What does it say on UART? Without that, it is a shot in the dark.
With privious images I had no problem.
Same here. No hdmi signal.
If you want me to do something, in order to debug it, just say so.
there is 2 files posted which did you guys DL, I just DL'ed the 2nd one posted april 9 18:06
size 1954996687 flashed it with etcher and it booted up fine
is one file headless one desktop ?
I tried both. No success.
Yes, Le Potato.
When I get home I will try the new links provided.
I did update upgrade and after it would not boot up this morning, I reflashed
and it runs again, it added a few more resolution's than img 7, but if I shut it
off no signal on restart
I just booted up my Le Potato with this for the first time. OMG. It is super sluggish. Firefox would not start up properly.
How is this board faster than the rpi 3?
Just saw quite a few newer images posted early this morning. I have the same issue. No HDMI out, (can't verify Video-out) but the blinky blue LED. I'll download the image and test again. I'm using the desktop DL.
Yeah no... seems to hang repeatedly. Hoping it might have simply not been loading drivers for the video, I plugged ethernet in and the lights are dimly lit but locked. No activity whatsoever. Back to the Armbian build.
@jeepthing, There was a bug in the image from 2018-04-09. We uploaded another image to fix it. Double check the sha512 sums with the images you are using. The bug lets board boot OK the first time and then delay the second boot for approximately two minutes. Be aware that this image turns on UHS SDR104 support and some MicroSD cards are flaky AF. If you don't get video, post your monitor resolution and consider investing in a UART cable.
I have tested ubuntu-1604-xfce-20180410.zip and it still does not work on my old Samsung TV... wonder that nobody could get this image working... is it possible that development boards have updated bootloader?
Tested all images, from the update at 10-4. None works, even the server image.
No hdmi output image. Exactly same situation as @deviat1
@wappi What resolution is your old Samsung TV?
@jaffac yes i'm using le potato for these img's,
@loverpi i'll try again see if boots after 2 min wait, I have a UART to USB
cable that came with ROC kit, I have to learn how to use it, i'm using
1920x1080 monitor , yes it booted after a wait
@jeepthing Yeah that's a bug that we failed to catch during validation. If you try the latest images, it should be fixed. The auto generated swap partition UUID is incorrect leading to the boot delay. It looks for an UUID that is not there.
ok will try the latest , thx for your help
so the "Ubuntu-1604-headless" version worked for me, and I can see the emmc module. To clarify there is a tool 'lc-distro-transfer' that lets you move any Libre allowed image only. No armbian/libreelec etc. For those you'll need to use dd. I'll tinker more when I get home, can't wait to test how snappy this will be!
the 4 10 img works for me, my monitor searches anolog/hdmi for abit then goes to sleep , I have to wake it 1st have it searching on boot
@deviat1 It's not so much that we allow it or not, we have a special parition layout and special file system that makes it easy since it is tailored for our image layout. Basically the end goal is you can flash a OS that may be for another device. eg. flash the eMMC for booting ROC-RK3328-CC or ALL-H3-CC from your Le Potato. You can then move that eMMC to your specific device and it will work there.
@loverpi My resolution is 1920x1080 (my TV can adapt to lower resolutions as well). I have waited 5 min, but no video...
@wappi 1080P is definitely supported. Get a UART cable and see what's up.
Same situation as @wappi . 1080p no image.
How would a UART cable help? Can you provide us an example on how to connect it?
Tried with Etcher and dd. With several different images. No success.
I'm using a SanDisk 32GB sd card.
I ordered a 3.3V UART to USB translator to debug this. It will take some time to arrive though.
